People are currently receiving text messages from Mrs.Mavis Wanczyk, a famous mega lottery winner, claiming that she is donating her lottery prize to some of the lucky people.

But don’t fall for this scam. Scammers have developed a new technique. They are creating dozens of new fake social media accounts to trick people into thinking that Mavis Wanczyk is donating her lottery winnings to charity.

Who is Mavis Wanczyk?

Mavis Wanczyk won the $758.7 million US Powerball jackpot on August 23, 2017. She is the second-largest lottery winner. A mother of two children. She worked in a patient care at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, for 32 years.

Why scammers are using her name?

Even today, many fake accounts are created in the name of Mavis Wanczyk on social media in order to defraud people.

Cybercriminals are using her name to get people’s attention by creating fake accounts on various social media accounts claiming that she is donating money from her winnings to lucky individuals in exchange for some of their personal information.

They are also requesting money from people in exchange for their personal information. They are convincing people that if they submit their information and money to the provided link, they will receive their donation funds shortly. However, many people lost money as a result of falling into this trap.
